Raimondo Schettini and Simone Bianco are among the most cited and influential researchers in the Artificial Intelligence & Image Processing field.

The study was conducted by the University of Stanford analyzing publication and citation data from 1996 through 2019, covering around 7 million scientists in 22 major fields.
The ranking, published by PLOS Biology for all disciplinary sectors, is based on the Scopus database which collects tens of thousands of scientific publications.

In total, there are 51 researchers and professors of the University of Milano-Bicocca in the ranking of the most influential world authors in 2019.
